I have chicken pox right now but most of the spots are on my head..if I scratch only the ones in my hair, will the scars cause my hair to fall out in those places?|||I am sorry you are sick . Do not scratch at all if you can possibly do it. No matter what you look like.It does not matter you are at home anyway . Put baby powder on your scalp it will help some . I had the worst case at age 13 . Chicken pox in places where I never heard of that people have them . In my ears, bottom of my feet etc., some left me with dime size scars for life . I can still see them after all this time .
To answer your question, yes it can be that the hair won%26#039;t grow on that particular spot . I am looking at my arms and there is no hair on the chicken spot .

|||Gosh, that%26#039;s hard to say, but I don%26#039;t think so. Go get yourself a big box of PLAIN oatmeal (or an Aveeno bath or just baking soda) and take a hot bath in it, dunking your head under and really getting it in your hair, let it really soak in. That should help ease the symptoms. You can also try taking benadryl (this will really work, but it may make you sleepy) and using a cortisone cream or calamine lotion. Don%26#039;t scratch!
Good luck!|||It is highly likely.
If you scratch the spots and they scar, which is not uncommon, the follicles in the scarred skin will be gone, just like in all other scars. With the hair follicles gone, no new hair will grow there.
So don%26#039;t scratch them! (I was three years old when I scratched them, and now I have a few scars on one side of my face!)
