Just had a operation on my stomach left with scars, going on holiday tomorrow, whats the best thing to use?

Hello,

Just had operation on my stomach which has left scars and going on holiday tomorrow, whats the best cream to put on the scars while sun bathing?

Thanks|||If your scars are pink then you should not expose them to sunlight at all. The tissue is still healing and any sunburn could actually make the scar worse. Try a zinc cream in a natural color. Or, get a dressing from a pharmacy, like Comfeel or Duoderm which are waterproof %26quot;bandaids%26quot; that are skin colored and will protect the scar.|||The best thing you could do is wear a swim suit that will cover those scars until they are a few months old. The skin is still healing and very delicate, and the sunscreen alone could be enough to irritate them. That would affect how they heal, and you could end up with a much uglier scar as a result. As far as a cream to help with healing, you can chose to use something like Mederma, which is a scar reduction cream, or Vitamin E oil which also helps promote skin healing. Either way, I would still not recommend exposing them to direct sunlight just yet. This is a case for a one piece suit, or a shirt to cover your stomach.|||try some cocoa butter. I heard that Mederma Gel is really good for scars. But it%26#039;s going to take a while to see results. But better to start now than later right? You can get Mederma gel at your local drug store or vons probably.|||I would put the highest factor suncream and i would cover the scar up , it%26#039;s healing tissue and it could cause infection if exposed to high levels of sunlight.|||Neosporin and don%26#039;t let the cut dry ir scab. That is what causes scabs. Keep the ointment on for at least two weeks.|||bio oil and palmers cocoa butter scar serum.|||Bio oil|||im going with cocoa butter i use it on my appendix scar.
