Ask your doctor or a person that works at the CVS or Walgreens in the pharmacy, they should know...

There are several different types out there. That will help with discoloration. If your scars are raised and lumpy you may need a small surgery to revise the scars. Also check your local drugstore for Mederma or other topicals you can apply, however, most of them recommend applying for the first several weeks after the scar has formed.
