What is the best product for treating scars? especially in the head.?

Is there any treatment/products that can help reduce the look of scars. I have an old scar the side of my head caused from surgery that I wish to completely vanish or at least reduce the look of it. Does anyone know about any proven product(s) that I can use to treat my problem?
