My cousin(young woman age 20) has dark scars on her legs. What best to do to lighten scars ?

Got these scars from cuts or infected wounds. Back of her legs have dark colored scars - not deep scars though, but dark %26amp; unsightly.|||There is an over the counter product called mederma that can be used for scars. I used it after several surgeries and it does lighten the scars...and some are almost unnoticeable. It just depends on the severity of the scar how light it will get, and it does take weeks for this to happen.





Good Luck|||There is a prescription ointment called RETIN-A which is absolutely excellent for this purpose. But i have found Rose Hip oil to do a wonderful job.. Tell her to dab it on every day, it will take some time but it does work wonders.|||Mederma (sp) is really good for lightening scars. They have it at CVS for sure, probably walgreens possibly walmart too. It usually runs around $20-$30. Avon has a bunch of creams that would work for her too, they can be pricey though. Cocoa butter may work aswell.
