Do you have lasting emotional scars from being bullied?

This can pertain to being bullied in the educational system or the workplace. I%26#039;ve always been bullied no matter where I was to varying degrees. I%26#039;ve tried to forget and forgive and even went as far as giving Jesus a try, but to no success. I do plan on going to counseling soon so maybe I%26#039;ll get some help there. Do you have any ideas on how to cope? Just don%26#039;t give me the Jesus route okay.|||I was bullied from 6th-8th grade and even my first year in college (I%26#039;m 23 now). It is very emotionally damaging. For me, kids would team up against me, taunt me, and tell me to do the world a favor and kill myself. One girl even told me to my face she would love to bring a knife to school and rip my heart out. I was also in several fist fights. I had no friends until I got to high school, because no one wanted to be associated with me.

Kids and even adults, can be very mean. I currently see a therapist, more for my OCD and eating disorder, but also for my self-esteem issues. Therapy is the best route, as a therapist will help you to talk and deal with these feelings and come up with solutions on how to combat bullies. You don%26#039;t deserve to be bullied. You deserve to be happy.

I hope this helps. :)|||You just have to talk through your problems! I%26#039;m so sorry that you have been bullied, I%26#039;ve been on both sides and I may not understand exactly what you went through, but I am sorry. I know it can be a big mess, feeling so alone.

Talking through your problems honestly helps! Even writing them down and venting them out. I%26#039;m not going to sit here and preach to you how God should help you, because I understand that sometimes when everything seems hopeless you don%26#039;t want to pray to God.

Anyway, write down everything that people have done to you in the past. Instead of trying to forget everything, remember it. Now I want you to take this list and rip it up into pieces. Have confidence in yourself. Whatever was on that list is in the past.

It%26#039;s normal to feel mad, sad, and angry. If you still have a bullying problem, how are you going to solve this? By acting confident. Confidence is honestly the key to everything. I%26#039;m not even joking

Honestly, this will take a lot of time and acceptance. You obviously can%26#039;t let go of something as big as being bullied in a matter of seconds, so have patience and persistence.

Good Luck

-Catherine

edit: You feel mad at yourself for not standing up for yourself? Well that takes courage so just no for the feature that you need to work on your courage.

WHY were you not courageous enough to stand up? Again... this goes back to the confidence thing I was talking about! It%26#039;s okay to speak up for yourself. You should always love and respect yourself.

Remember this: YOU always come first. It%26#039;s not being selfish, it%26#039;s being practical.

edit: Sillygirl, I am so sorry you had to go through with that! I honestly can%26#039;t imagine that. We really don%26#039;t have a physical bullying problem at my school. Hope all is well :)|||Well I went to anger management and counciling but to tell the truth such scars and incidents in your life may never fully go away. You may have low self esteem or etc seek help and of couse try to forgive and move on. I hope you find peace and understanding in your life.|||Yes! I was bullied for several years and it left me with depression and severe anxiety, both of which still affect me to an extent today. You aren%26#039;t alone, don%26#039;t worry. Good luck with the counselling, therapy really does help :)|||JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! Dont ever stop taking in jesus stuff, because i believe the time is nearer than we think and knowing more and more about jesus is soon going to pay off kiddo. just know in the back of your mind that they will all be punished severely for what they are doing to you. You will be blessed.|||You are suffering from %26quot;Low Self Esteem%26quot; You need a little help with this and I am not sure where to point.
